For today on #AppleWeek it’s Apple Pork Burgers. I made this version with apple sausage. An added apple boost.
If you can’t find apple sausage, country sausage or breakfast sausage works as well. Remove meat from the casing. Add the diced apple, green onion, seasoning and a touch of maple syrup. So good!

Apple Pork Burgers
Ingredients
- 1/2 pound ground pork or loose pork sausage
- 1/2 cup diced apples
- 1/4 cup diced green onion
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- salt and pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon oil to grease griddle (optional)
Instructions
- Mix together all ingredients. Divide in half and form 2 patties.
- Preheat griddle over medium heat. Lightly oil if desired.
- Cook over medium heat, turning burgers once, until internal temperature reaches 160 degrees.
- Serve on toasted buns with lettuce and dressing as desired.
