Gingerbread Smoothie offers warm spices in a creamy drink. Try a shot of your favorite cinnamon liqueur for an adult version. Part of a Winter Warm-Up Drinks series from Festive Foodies.
Smoothie drinks come in all flavors from fruity to green versions. You can use traditional dairy, almond, soy or coconut milk, bananas or just ice as a base.
Anything goes. Even a shot of your favorite liquor or liqueur.
Here’s a base smoothie recipe to get you started.
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup ice
- 1/3 cup milk
- 1/2 banana
- fruit, peanut butter or vegetables of choice
For my Gingerbread Smoothie I use gingersnaps as a flavor base with a touch of ground cinnamon or cinnamon liqueur.
Gingerbread Smoothie
Ingredients
- 6 gingersnap cookies, crushed (about 1/4 cup)
- 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt
- 1/3 cup milk whole, skim, soy, or almond)
- 1 cup ice
- 1/2 banana
- dash of cinnamon
- cinnamon liqueur optional
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a blender. Pulse to desired consistency. Serve with whipped cream and cookie garnish if desired.
