Holiday get-togethers are a great time to share a satisfying hot drink with family and friends. I love that toasty feeling a warm, smooth beverage brings on a cold wintry day. But if you are lactose intolerant or watching your sugar for health reasons or (calorie splurging holiday reasons 😉 ) you don’t need to miss out.
My Oatmeal Cookie Drink is a nice alternative to hot chocolate! Yes, it does taste like an oatmeal cookie without the caffeine of coffee drinks.
This drink is made with unsweetened soy milk and Sweet’N Low. If you can’t find unsweetened soy milk at your grocers, try the recipe below.
Hot Oatmeal Cookie Drink

INGREDIENTS
- 1 cup unsweeted soy milk
- 1 packet or 2 pink measure spoons of Sweet’N Low
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- pinch of nutmeg
Mix together all ingredients except nutmeg. in a shaker or whisk in a bowl.
Heat over low heat or microwave to desired temperature. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Add whipped topping of your choice if desired. Serve immediately.

Using Soy Flour to Make Soy Milk (recipe from All About Soy )
Ingredients
3 cups water
1 cup full-fat soy flour
Directions
In a saucepan bring water to a boil. Slowly pour soy flour into the boiling water, whisking constantly. Reduce heat; simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Line a colander with cheesecloth or nylon mesh; place in a large bowl. Strain soy flour mixture through the lined colander. Refrigerate milk immediately. If desired, flavor with vanilla, mocha, sweetener or other flavorings.
Yield 3 servings. Serving size: 1 cup
