One of my favorite chicken dishes is Lemon Basil Chicken. Fresh basil and fresh squeezed lemon juice make the flavor pop. This was a perfect dish to test Pure Lemon Paste.

My Lemon Basil Chicken was kicked up a notch by adding Pure Lemon Paste to the sauce. The slight sweetness added a welcome depth to the dish.
Ingredients
- 2 (4 ounce) chicken breasts
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons Nielsen-Massey’s Pure Lemon Paste
- 2/3 cup chicken broth
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat oil over med-high heat in an oven proof fry pan. Season chicken with salt and pepper. Brown chicken on both sides.
- Add Pure Lemon Paste, broth, basil, onion powder and garlic powder. Place pan in 350 oven for 15 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165.
- Remove chicken to a plate. Cover with foil and rest.
- Reduce pan juices to desired consistency. Pour sauce over chicken.
