This week our Sunday Supper Team is showing our team spirit by putting together a winning lineup of snacks, apps, main meals and desserts to kick-off your Super Bowl Party in style. Special thanks to Jen at Juanita’ Concina a http://jcocina.com/ for hosting our Super Bowl Party!

Now if you know me, you know that I don’t know many football plays or root for a favorite team except my grandson’s midget team. I do like the idea of the party food though. I’m especially fond of finger foods. You know, less dishes. A few platters and paper plates (eco-friendly ones of course) some cold drinks and a big enough TV.

I’m also a big fan of anything wrapped in pizza dough. Why not cheesesteaks? I’m from PA not Philadelphia exactly but still cheesesteak country. Besides the great taste, this recipe is super easy and bakes super fast.

cheesesteak ingredients

  • 1 medium bell pepper sliced
  • 1 medium onion sliced
  • 4 ounces chipped steak
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 ounces American cheese
  • ½ cup part-skim mozzarella
  • 1 pound pizza dough
  • 1½ cups tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees

Saute peppers and onions in oil on medium heat for 5 minutes.

Add steak and continue cooking until thoroughly cooked.

While mixture is cooking, roll out pizza dough to about ¼-inch thickness. Cut into 2-inch squares or cut pieces and flatten with your palm. You can change the shapes for fun that way! Playing with dough is fun, isn’t it?
